Eligible Field of Study: Research areas under the PhD Programme fall broadly under two categories:

•Biomedical Sciences; and
•Physical Science and Engineering.

About SINGA Scholarship: The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is an initiative of the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Students will be supervised by distinguished and internationally renowned researchers in these labs, and upon successful completion, they will be awarded a PhD degree by either NUS or NTU. PhD training will be conducted in English at your chosen lab at A*STAR Research Institutes, NUS or NTU.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria for SINGA

•All overseas graduates with a strong interest in research and exceptional academic performance are welcome to apply.

•Excellent written and spoken English.

•Excellent reports from academic referees

The aforementioned eligibility requirements are not exhaustive.

Number of Scholarships: up to 240

SINGA Scholarship Value: The prize supports up to four years of PhD studies, including:

•Tuition fees
•Monthly stipend of S$2,000, rising to S$2,500 after Qualifying Examination.
•Single-trip travel grant up to S$1,500*

Duration of Scholarship: For 4 years

A*STAR, NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU, and SIT collaborate on the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA). International students with high academic undergraduate and/or master’s performance and a significant interest in research leading to a Singapore University PhD or EngD in Science and Engineering receive a bond-free award.

Students can pursue PhD or EngD training at A*STAR, NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU, or SIT. Students receive PhD or EngD degrees from NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU, or SIT.
