After two successful Netflix movies about the younger sleuth sis of Sherlock Holmes, Millie is picking back up her magnifying glass for another adventure in Enola Holmes 3. The movie series also stars Henry Cavill as Sherlock and Helena Bonham Carter as Sherlock and Enola’s mother, Eudoria—and two out of these three main actors were just spotted filming the new movie together.

Will there be an Enola Holmes 3?
Yes! Netflix confirmed the news in an April 2025 release, saying:
“Even abroad, mystery follows Enola Holmes, and you’re invited along for the ride. That’s right: Millie Bobby Brown is back as Sherlock Holmes’ equally brilliant younger sister in Enola Holmes 3, now in production in the UK.
The latest installment in the adventures of the young detective sees her tackling another mystery, this time on the island nation of Malta. You’ll have to wait and see what brings her there—but once she’s arrived, Enola is flung into a nest of vipers. As the private detective juggles a new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), the game is truly afoot.:
Where is Enola Holmes 3 filming?
Enola Holmes 3 takes place and has filmed in Malta! Millie and Helena have been spotted filming around Malta, which has hosted many other productions such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Jurassic World.
The island is a fan-favorite among Hollywood stars, including Russell Crowe, who filmed Gladiator there and has returned often with his family ever since. “You want to know what I love about Malta? Everything,” Russell Crowe said during the Golden Bee Awards at the 2025 Mediterrane Film Festival. “I love coming to Malta and I’m grateful for your welcome every time I’m here.”

What might happen in Enola Holmes 3?
Enola Holmes 2 ends with the main mystery solved but contained plenty of hints of what could happen next. Moriarty is seen escaping prison, so she’ll likely be returning to cause the Holmes family problems. There’s also the introduction of Dr. John Watson, who could feature heavily in a third film.
Though the Enola Holmes films are inspired by the novel series of the same name by Nancy Springer, they don’t tend to follow the plots laid out in the novels exactly, so the books don’t necessarily provide a roadmap on what’s to come.
